Nate Starkman & Sons

Description
Arts District L.A. The Pan Pacific Warehouse. Built in 1906 by the Dutch Brininstool Painting Company. The "Nate Starkman" name is from a record label that was in the building in the 1980's. Apparently it has been one of the most flmed buildings in L.A. (movies). It was in "Thriller", etc. I seem to have a thing for STOP signs, but it was the only way to photograph the full building. For a few decades, the Arts District was an area that was abandoned; old businesses/factories had shut down as labor went elsewhere. These abondoned buildings became cheap rent for artists to live, and open up art studios to do their work. When I first started going down here in 2010, I thought it'd be a great area to open up a studio (cheap rent, cool buildings, artists around). But in the years since, these buildings have been renovated and everythning is relatively expensive.
