Bullock Wilshire 2

Description
Wilshire Blvd, L.A. Luxury Department Store(1929-1994), now a Law Library. Built in 1929, by architects John and Donald Parkinsons. Art Deco styling. The Art Decorative Exhibit had just occurred in Paris and influenced designers around the world. Canadian John Bullock commissioned to have this building designed with and Art Deco sensibilities. One key element of the style is the "waterfall" element. A graphich, stylized version of how water falls from one later to another layer...hence the thinner tower and wider base. It's a fantastic building and it is unfortunate it isn't still a department store, as it looked amazing on the interior (from photos I've seen).
