Pasadena, L.A. Route 66 (Colorado Blvd). Built 1957, architect Harold Zook. 1950's era architecture with a moorish inspired neon sign. In the 50's motor hotels along major roadways become very popular as Americans began traveling more during vacations, and business trips. As freeways popped up, these hotels became less popular. It is near Cal tech.
